To support DECYP’s commitment to keep all children and young people safe, all workers are screened when commencing with the department. This screening is a key component in keeping all children and young people safe, and in mitigating risks to DECYP’s integrity, assets and resources.
Pre-Engagement Screening Policy and Procedures
DECYP’s Pre-Engagement Screening Policy and Procedures provide a robust screening framework for recruitment and ongoing engagement of anyone wishing to work, contract, care, or volunteer at DECYP, or access DECYP sites. These are listed below:
The policy states all workers at DECYP will be screened for:
- Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).
Depending on their role, workers may also be screened for:
- National Police Check
- Child Safety Concern Check
- Other specific checks as a role requires.
Applying for RWVP
To apply or update your Tasmanian RWVP, see the .
Tasmanian RWVP is managed by Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS) within the Department of Justice.
Once issued, CBOS manage all renewals and information updates to a RWVP card.
